Mr. and Mrs. Budinger first met the founding Norbertine fathers of St. Michael's in the 1960s. The Budingers were consistent and generous friends of the Norbertines and their educational efforts throughout the intervening years. The family determined that it was most appropriate to honor the life and sustain the values of David and Janice Budinger by establishing a named scholarship in 1998. This gift increased the opportunity for young men of merit to benefit from an education and formation without peer.

The Dorothy Molokie Scholarship was established in 1996 by Mr. Richard G. Molokie in memory of Dorothy, his late wife, who was formed by and devoted to the ideals of a classical Catholic boarding education. This scholarship gives a fine education to deserving young men who would otherwise not have the opportunity of living and learning at St. Michael's Prep.

Intelligent and determined, Alphonse Adam Mozan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Loyola University Medical School by the age of 20 while holding a fulltime job. As a physician Alphonse visited the sick at home (theirs and his) and charged only what a person could afford to pay. Any students in need of help, but most often high school students, he would tutor with generosity and exactitude. He was friends with everyone, without distinction of race or class. Education, good character, and a love of God were all important to him. He was a devoted husband and proud father. The Mozan Scholarship, begun in 2003, provides for immigrant children (especially those of Polish heritage) the same three important qualities that gave the life of Dr. Alphonse Mozan its power.

During his 60 years as a priest, Abbot Ladislaus Parker has dedicated himself to the Catholic Faith, the Norbertine Order, and the education of young people in Southern California. In a life filled with daunting challenges and adventures, Abbot Parker stayed his course. Among the successes was his effectively encouraging and forming priestly vocations, an effort which saw the original group of seven priests grow to a thriving community of over forty priests with twenty-eight young men currently in formation for the priesthood. Abbot Parker attributes this singular grace to God who blessed him with a Norbertine education and a boarding school life. Begun in 2000, the Abbot Parker Scholarship provides a Norbertine education at St. Michael's for economically needy young men.

Frances M. Raab
In appreciation of a wife and mother imbued with strength and love, the Robert Raab family of Pasadena established the Frances M. Raab Scholarship in 1998. Frances valued her Catholic faith as well as the benefits offered by good education. The Raab Scholarship supports young men of merit studying at St. Michael's Prep with its unique educational opportunities.
Michael S. Raab
Mike graduated from St. Michael's Prep in 1975. Mike enjoyed an outgoing personality that helped him make friends at school. His innate drive to be actively involved in the everyday life of the school made him a leader among his peers. He had a very dynamic role in building the student government. After graduating from St. Michael's Prep and then from Santa Clara University, Mike started the successful Optical Laser and led it to a significant place in the computer data storage marketplace as CEO. Memorial gifts have been made each year since 2002.
Honoring the priest who gave five decades of generous service to the students and families of St. Michael's, the Father Hubert S. Szanto Scholarship began in 1997 - the year of Fr. Szanto's retirement. This scholarship provides financial aid to a young man attending St. Michael's whose character is inspired and energized by the intellectual and moral virtues.

In 1947 Fr. Werenfried appealed for help on behalf of the 14 million Germans who had been displaced because of the political settlements that concluded World War II. He boldly encouraged his Flemish neighbors to show Christian charity to their recent enemies. Their response, born of profound forgiveness and personal sacrifice, began Aid to the Church in Need, an international Catholic charity that promotes the pastoral mission of the Church. By his ability to inspire others to the service of their neighbor for the love of God, Fr. Werenfried van Straaten was best able to help bring forth the kingdom of heaven among the needy on earth. Initiated in 2003, The Father Werenfried van Straaten Scholarship for Catholic Leadership acknowledges this divine call in Fr. Werenfried and fosters it in future generations of young men at St. Michael's Prep.
